Annie Laura Martinez (Booth)
Annie Laura Martinez, 88, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away peacefully at her home here in Las Vegas, NM surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 5, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel F. Maes; her sons: Daniel (Pito) Maes, Ross Maes, Paul Dary II Maes, and Joseph Maes. Annie is survived by her children: Benny and Felix Maes of Cleveland, NM, Linda Feaselman and husband Jerry of Loveland, CO, Sebastian Maes, Teresa Lopez and husband John and Carlos Maes and wife Elena all of Las Vegas, NM, Juana Kentfield and husband Mitch of Cleveland, NM; her brother, Junnure Phelps and wife Barbara of Waynesboro, MS; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grand- children, and 15 great-great-grandchildren and many friends who will miss her dearly.
She was born in Meridian, MS on October 15, 1927 to Ross and Esther Payton Booth. She then raised her family in Cleveland, NM. She was a part of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed her time knitting, crocheting, gardening, and was also a foster grandparent. Before she retired she was a school bus driver on the El Porvenir Route for the East Las Vegas School System for many years.
All services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Friday, August 12, 2016 with a rosary at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Father Douglas Mitchell will celebrate the Mass. The interment of her cremated remains will follow in the San Jose Cemetery
