Mary M. Baca, 70, a resident of Tecolotito, NM, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Christus St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Santa Fe, NM. She was preceded in death by her mother, Clorinda Morales; a daughter, infant Barbara Jean Baca; in-laws: Bonifacio Baca, Lucia Baca, Juliana Lucero, Jose Baca, Rosa Olguin, Melecia Gallegos, Elfigo Olguin, Rubel Lucero, Virginio Lucero, Priscilla Lucero; an aunt, Stella Morales; an uncle Apolonario Morales; and a grand mother, Margarita Morales.
She is survived her husband, Benito L. Baca of Tecolotito, NM; her father, Manuel Morales Sr. of Anton Chico, NM; two sons: Gilbert Baca & Pablita of Tecolotito, NM and Bernard Baca and Danika Baca, the mother of their children of Tecolotito, NM; two daughters: Cindy Gonzales and husband Ignacio of Tecolotito, NM and Annette Baca and husband Julian Tapia of El Curuco, NM, two grandchildren raised by her, Benito Jude Baca and wife Marie of Edmond, OK and Malcolm Isaiah Baca and Sabrina Lucero of Las Vegas, NM; two brothers: Larry Morales Sr. and wife Aggie of Anton Chico, NM and Manuel Morales Sr. and wife Frances of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren: Araya Baca, Markus Bonifacio Baca, Revee Baca, Yvette Gonzales (Daniel Gallegos), Orlando Gonzales, Lee Gonzales, Bridgette Baca (Timothy Munoz), and Nayeli Julianna Tapia; great-grandchildren: Alianna Gallegos, Margarito Gallegos, Nathanael Baca-Munoz, Bentley Jace Baca, Aliah Marie Baca (yet to arrive); sisters-in-law: Gloria Baca, Flora Baca, Isabel Bachicha (Sonny Cordova) and Elvira Lucero; aunts: Vickie Beaman, Annie, Avelina Madrid, and Amelia Madrid; god children: Darla Tenorio, and Vickie Villanueva; close cousins Amy and Aggie, and numerous nieces and nephews:
She was born in Anton Chico, NM on May 28, 1946 and completed her high school and some college. She was a substitute teacher for the Santa Rosa Consolidated School District for over 30 years. She was a member of the San Jose Parish in Anton Chico, NM. She attended Mass every Sunday up until her health no longer allowed her to go. Mary was a loving person. She always worried about others before herself. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. Her hobbies include going to the horse races to see her grandson race, going to the casino with her husband and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd, Las Vegas, NM beginning at 3:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited there at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held from the San Jose Church in Anton Chico, NM with a rosary recited by the Sociadad de Nuestro Padre Jesus de Nazarino on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 3, 2016 by Father Antonio Mondragon at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Tecolotito, NM with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
